Important notice Herefordshire Council Research Team are currently developing a new website, drawing together information currently presented on the Herefordshire Council and Herefordshire Partnership sites. The new site should go "live" in January 2010. You may need to update any bookmarks or links you have to either of the current sites. |
The State of Herefordshire Report (SoH), produced by the Herefordshire Partnership Research Team, is a digest of statistics about Herefordshire containing local performance and contextual information. The State of Herefordshire Report describes the county and the current issues that it is facing, a useful tool for policy making and evidence for funding bids. The SoH is also useful as an evidence base for organisations such as Government Office and Advantage West Midlands, who may need to make decisions about Herefordshire without necessarily knowing the area well.
The current hard copy report the State of Herefordshire Report 2009 was published in May 2009.
The report is linked to the outcomes in the Herefordshire Sustainable Community Strategy, and is structured so that you can see statistics and information relating to each of the objectives. A number of key performance indicators (KPI) have been chosen to monitor progress towards these outcomes. The State of Herefordshire Report provides trend data for these KPIs and other supplementary indicators (PI), together with relevant contextual facts and figures. Wherever possible, comparative data is presented to allow benchmarking.
Information for the State of Herefordshire report is provided on a themed dataset-by-dataset basis in line with the Community Strategy. Information is generally provided for Herefordshire county or where appropriate below county, highlighting where particular areas stand out as being different from the county as a whole. However, if you are interested in a range of facts and figures about a particular geographic area below county level (along with county comparison figures), you may find our local Area Profiles helpful.
As an ongoing project, updates of the data (including more detailed breakdowns) will be made available to view or download via the tabs on the left. Data on these pages will be updated as and when new information becomes available. Information is presented for the county of Herefordshire and, where possible, for areas below county, comparative geographies and trend data for previous years. In cases where analysis of the data has already been presented in a report such as the Quarterly Economic Report, a link to that additional information will be provided.
If as part of using this new online version or the hard copy of the State of Herefordshire Report you have suggestions for improving the content, layout or usability, please contact the Herefordshire Partnership Research Team.
