The Herefordshire Sustainable Community Strategy
The Herefordshire Sustainable Community Strategy has been produced as a result of work undertaken to refresh the Community Strategy produced in 2005. Whilst a full public consultation was not undertaken on this occasion, the issues and priorities for the County previously highlighted were cross-referenced against a wide evidence base already in existence. This included data from the State of Herefordshire Report, issues raised at PACT meetings, and county wide consultations undertaken for the Local Development Framework and Community Led Planning. In addition, the four previous Themes which appeared in the 2006 Community Strategy increased to six, enhancing the coverage offered to the Environment and Safer/Stronger Themes.
The Strategy provides a framework for local groups and organisations to plan their work, and a focus for developing plans and strategies. It's Vision is that:
Herefordshire will be a place where people, organisations and businesses working together within an outstanding natural environment will bring about sustainable prosperity and well-being for all.
A new Herefordshire Sustainable Community Strategy will be produced in 2011.
The full document has been produced in black and white, whilst a short guide has been produced in colour. For ease of download, this second version has been produced both with and without photographs.
