Parish plans
This is a small selection of the 43 Parish Plans produced in Herefordshire over the past 7 years. Some plans cover a single parish (e.g. Kings Caple) whilst others cover a group of parishes (e.g. the Bishopstone Group). The Plans represent the efforts of a huge number of people in local communities and are based on survey questionnaires sent to every household within those communities.
The questionnaire response rates average over 50% which is an extremely high rate of return when compared to other types of consultation. As such they are a very good reflection of the opinions, needs and aspirations of the communities in which they occur.
This enables the local community concerned to talk to service providers with greater authority, knowing they can prove they have the backing of the majority of their parishioners.
It also carries weight when applying for grants from various agencies and trusts such as the National Lottery.
